Trustlines let you connect with others and allow funds (CAD$ or Satoshi) to route through the network. Setting a 2% or 3% trust index is recommended for most participants to diversify risk and improve routing reliability.
Visualizing multiple trust paths increasing network resilience.
Tip: Start small (2%) and increase as you build confidence with your network participants.
1. Register at lightningsatoshi.net and/or canadian-dollar.money. You no longer require an invitation, registration is open.
2. Connect
Log in and set up your trustlines.
3. Set Trust Index
Choose 1-2% for safe routing. Remember, you can slowly increase over time.
4. Transact
Send/receive CAD$ or Satoshi (0.00000001's of a Bitcoin) with confidence. You can transact down to units of 0.001$CAD or Satoshi, the latter being especially useful, as you can send micro-transactions of a Satoshi (0.001 of a sat, or down to 0.0000000001 Bitcoin)!
You may take on more risk than you are comfortable with, as more of your balance could be routed through others. Keep it between 1-2% for safety unless you fully trust your counterparties.
No. You only set trustlines with people or entities you are comfortable trusting. The network can still route payments through indirect paths if enough participants are connected.
Yes, you can adjust your trust percentage at any time. Many users start at 2% and gradually raise it as they build confidence in the network.
